Kids Party Idea - Toddler Train Party
By Cheryl Pierce
Boys and girls of all ages have a deep and abiding love of trains. From Thomas the Tank to The Little Engine that Could, trains make an excellent theme for a birthday party for your favorite youngster. The great news is that there are plenty of great party favors and decorations on the market to make your train theme carry through all aspects of the birthday party. All the young ones love a Toddler Train party.
You won't have any problem finding trained theme invitations. And most party shops have them that fit specific train themes. You don't need a huge amount of decorations for your party. Trained theme goody bags are a nice touch though and the kids will LOVE a train shaped pinata. If the kids enjoy dressing up, have them wear little engineer outfits. This makes a great interactive party. Right before you serve cake and ice cream you might want to play a favorite DVD. This will quiet the kids down just a bit while you get things ready.
Finding the perfect cake will be easy. You'll find all kinds of cake forms and themes that are ideal for train cakes and parties. Whether you go with The Polar Express as a theme, or even the old fashioned steam engine, you'll easily find what you need. After the cake and ice cream head outdoors to take a wack at the pinata. You can find pinatas at party supply shops AND find all the goodies to fill them. Of course the same party supply shops should carry train theme plates, goody bag fillers and all the other train items you need,.
Goody bags are becoming a more and more important part of birthday parties in modern society. The train themed birthday party lends itself to plenty of train themed goody bag fillers. Among those wonderful items are coloring books, storybooks, puzzles, train whistles (their parents will love you and it is the perfect revenge for the air horn your child came home with), and stickers. This is a great way for your child to give back to those who have given him or her gifts while providing something appropriate to the theme for everyone to remember this particular party by.
If you'd like to add something really unique to the party, try and find a train museum or a train car where you can host your party. This makes a really special memory for all the children. In some cities you can find trains that run short day trips. This makes a thrilling party experience and you can change your theme to "The Great Escape". Of course, if you do this type of party, it will even work well for older kids. Just remember, you'll have to plan another party next year...and this one is going to hard to top.
