Basics of Astrology

By Marvin Lawary

Astrology is the study of a person's personality, traits or characters using the position of the bodies of the solar planet at the time the person to do so;

The rise of Astrology began as the Early Man made a concerted attempt to study and understand the environment around him Things like times and season eventually gave man the understanding of the Earth's power and led to the study of the solar system eventually Thus, Astrology was born.

Astrology was used from time to time by ancient doctors or medicine philosophers such as Hippocrates to better understand the personality of their patients; it was not rare for a doctor to have the Astrological profile of a patient charted for medicinal purposes. The sign you are born under is very important; each sign determines the way you act think and what you believe. Knowing your star sign is the start of knowing yourself. Many people think this is not important enough, but trust me - it's really important if you know what ought to be known.

An erroneous conception that many people have is that Astrology can predict detailed event of the future; while Astrology does deal with future events, it doesn't give an accurate description of future events; it simply gives an indication of what may happen in the near future.

The popularity of Astrology in these recent times can be seen in the proliferation of Astrological websites, books, seminars and newspaper; it seems with the advancement of man comes the burning desire to know what happens next.

Despite the fact that a chart of the solar system carefully drawn up can predict what will happen to you seems far fetched to some people, Astrology can do that, and quite accurately too.

The most conclusive material ever written on Astrology till date was the tetrabiblos (the four books); it was written by Ptolemy Claudius and contains detailed information about the principle of ideology... the book was used by many Arabian and European scholars because of its cohesiveness.
